Privacy Policy — Pillbook

Last updated: 27 August 2026

The short version: Pillbook does not collect anything. There is no account, no server, and no analytics. Your medications and dose history are stored on your device and are never transmitted to us, because there is nowhere for them to be transmitted to.

What Pillbook stores

Pillbook stores the information you enter — medication names, strengths, forms, schedules, reminder preferences, notes, profiles, and your dose log — in a file inside the app's own private storage area on your device, together with rolling on-device backups of that file. This data is covered by your device's own encryption and by your device passcode.

What Pillbook does not do

Network access

Pillbook makes no network requests of its own. The only network activity that can occur is when you buy or restore Pillbook Plus, which is handled entirely by Apple's App Store systems. Apple tells the app only whether a valid purchase exists. We never see your name, your Apple Account, or your payment details.

Notifications

If you grant notification permission, reminders are scheduled locally on your device by iOS. No reminder content leaves the device and no push server is involved.

Data you choose to export

When you export a CSV file or generate a PDF report, that file is created on your device and handed to the iOS share sheet. Where it goes next — Mail, Files, Messages, a printer — is entirely your choice, and is then governed by whichever app or service you send it to.

Deleting your data

Deleting the Pillbook app from your device removes all of its data, including backups. There is no server-side copy for us to delete, and no request you need to send us.

Children

Pillbook is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

Medical disclaimer

Pillbook is a personal reminder and record-keeping tool. It does not check drug interactions, recommend dosages, or provide medical advice of any kind. Always follow the instructions given by your prescriber or pharmacist.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a revised date above.
